Finance Update
2026 Parent Payments are available on Compass.
To access 2026 Parent Payments on Compass
Log into your parent account on compass and click on the 9 squares icon on your dashboard and select “Events” and then "Action Centre" and then select 2026 Parent Payments.
This process will enable you to update required information, agree to selected college policies and make curriculum contributions and other parent payments for 2026. Instalment plans are available commencing February 2026.
Elective Subject Payments for 2026 have been charged through compass events.
Elective subjects such as food studies, woodwork, art and drama subjects carry a high resource cost to the school which is explained in the subject guide.
Thank you to our parent community for their patience with allocating the School Savings Bonus to school activities. Please continue to email the school if you wish to use any remaining funds.
Please check with students before paying for an event or committing to a camp. We have had a lot of families requesting refunds for camps/events students cannot attend due to other commitments. Our refund policy states that a refund can only occur if the student has been replaced. We do take out Insurance cover for camps however the claims process is quite rigorous and claims for non-attendance on a camp can only be considered if the student has a doctors certificate stating they are unfit to attend for the dates of the camp.
We thank you for your cooperation.
Kind Regards

Child safety and wellbeing at Brentwood Secondary College: information for families and the school community
Brentwood Secondary College is committed to providing an environment where students are safe and feel safe.
Our child safety policies are available under the ‘College Policies’ section on our website (https://brentwood.vic.edu.au/about-our-college/college-policies/). These policies explain how we support and maintain child safety and wellbeing at Brentwood Secondary College. This includes our:
Child Safety and Wellbeing Policy
Child Safety Reporting and Responding Obligations Procedures, and
Child Safety Code of Conduct, which outlines acceptable and unacceptable behaviours for all staff and volunteers at our school.
Our students and families are important partners in providing a child safe environment. These regular newsletter reminders are one of the ways we ensure our school community is aware of:
- our commitment to child safety, and
- how to provide feedback or raise child safety concerns.
If you have any concerns about child safety at any time, please contact John Ballagh (Principal) or Aaron Palmer (Assistant Principal – Director of Wellbeing) on 8545 0300. Any child safety complaints or concerns are treated seriously. For more information about our school’s complaints process, see our Complaints Policy, which is also located in the ‘College Policies’ section of our website (https://brentwood.vic.edu.au/about-our-college/college-policies/).

Easing into adolescence: resources for families
Free resources for families of adolescents aged 10 to 14 years.
The Department of Education has launched an Easing into adolescence webpage for families of students aged 10 to 14 (Grade 5 to Year 8).
The webpage has information and strategies you can use to help ease your child into adolescence and secondary school. These include:
· A guide to emotion coaching. Staff from The University of Melbourne’s Tuning in to Teens Kids program developed the guidance.
