Principal's Report

Issue 2 Principal Report
It has been a wonderful start to the school year with a calm sense of purpose across our classrooms, grounds and learning spaces. We commend our students and staff for the positive and focused way they have begun the year.
One of the early highlights of the term has been the Swim Carnival. It was particularly pleasing to see our Year 7 students attend their very first carnival and immediately immerse themselves in the vibrant house spirit that defines this event. The cheering, colour, camaraderie and encouragement on display reflected the very best of our school culture. They cheered the competitors whose impressive performances in the pool saw ribbons awarded and records broken. These achievements are a testament not only to talent, but to perseverance, discipline and the courage to give your very best. Supporting the carnival atmosphere were the efforts of our Vocational Major students who co-ordinated and ran a range of activities to keep students active and engaged. Congratulations to all students who participated, whether competitively or by supporting their house from the sidelines.
Last week students had their school photos taken. These photographs become treasured mementos of each school year. Many of us can recall looking back at our own school photos with a sense of nostalgia, reflecting on how far we have come and how much we have changed! I encourage students to value these keepsakes, as they become part of the story of your school journey.
This week marks a significant milestone for our school community with the introduction of our very first Year 7 Health and Wellbeing Day. This exclusive, tailored day has been designed to support our newest students as they continue their transition into secondary school. Our aim is to equip them with a broad range of practical strategies and tools to help them thrive, not only academically, but socially and emotionally, empowering them to become the very best people and learners they can be. Students participated in a diverse range of engaging and purposeful activities, including guest presenters from partner organisations, physical challenges such as boxercise, yoga and bootcamp and some creative pursuits. The energy and openness shown by our Year 7 students throughout the day has been inspiring. Initiatives such as this reflect our ongoing commitment to fostering a safe, supportive and connected learning environment.
Looking ahead, our Year 7 Camp next week will provide a further opportunity to strengthen friendships, build resilience and create shared experiences that deepen connections. Camps are often where lasting bonds are formed, confidence is built and students discover new strengths in themselves and others. We are excited to see our students embrace this next stage of their journey together.
As always, thank you to our staff for their dedication and to our families for your continued support. The year has begun with great promise, and we look forward to all that we will achieve together.

Associate Principal
Key Staff in 2026
As the year begins, I would like to introduce our community to staff who hold key positions within the college.
The Principal Team continues to remain the same in 2026. Our purpose is to strategically lead the improved learning and wellbeing outcomes of all our students in partnership with the wider school community. Sonja Ardley and Dean Korlos will continue their leadership of Teaching and Learning whilst Peter Rhodes and Aaron Palmer will continue to embed a positive climate for learning so that all students have the opportunity to do, and be their best.
Throughout the year the team look forward to contributing to our fortnightly newsletter with our Principals’ Report.
The file below is a list of staff who are leading various programs or teams within our school. Through their roles, these staff will have responsibility for leading various aspects of our school that support students being their best learners and people.
