Principal's Message

A Prayer for Our School Community
Gracious God,
We thank you for the voices of our students and the leadership of our PBL Leaders.
Guided by faith, help us to listen to one another and work together to create a safe and inclusive school for all.
May we always follow the example of St Andrew by loving and serving our community.
Amen.
Student Leadership Acknowledgement
Dear Families,
At St Andrew’s Catholic Primary School, our mission is to listen to every voice and learn together, guided by faith. I invite you to attend our Assembly held tomorrow morning, which will recognise student leadership, community, and the proactive spirit of our students.
Tomorrow’s Milestone: Empowering Our Student Leaders
During tomorrow's assembly, we will officially recognise our Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) Leaders for Semester 1. These are our student representatives from every class in Year 1 through to Year 6.
These students will make a PBL Leaders' Promise and receive a special blessing to lead our community with integrity and kindness. We will also present our Year 6 students with their commemorative jackets, marking a significant milestone in their final year of leadership at St Andrew's.
Student Voice in Action: Enhancing Playtime
The impact of this leadership has been visible through the work of our Student Voice Team over the past 12 months, which is composed of our dedicated PBL Leaders. Their commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and enjoyable play environment has led to several enhancements to our playground activities.
Last year, one of the key achievements was Improved Soccer Access and Safety: To alleviate congestion and promote safety, a second soccer pitch was created on the oval specifically for Year 3/4 students; simultaneously, pressure was taken off the existing front pitch which was made available shared between the Year 3–6 girls' group and Year 5/6 boys to ensure equitable access for all. We look forward to welcome future suggestions from our new Student Voice Team.
A Collaborative Future
These initiatives exemplify the "Spirit of St Andrew" by listening to every voice and inspiring hope for the future. We acknowledge the teachers who facilitated class meetings to discuss these developments and offer thanks to Trish Loyd (Wellbeing Leader) for her leadership and oversight of the Student Voice Team.
We look forward to seeing you at our assembly tomorrow as we acknowledge the potential for the positive impact of our student-led initiatives.
Regards
Brian Martin
Principal
