Maths Games Night

Last night our tutoring team, consisting of Ms. Cugnetto, Miss Wittman and Mr. Campbell successfully hosted a parent maths games night in our staffroom. With 40 parents in attendance, the tutoring team shared a range of games and strategies for parents to use at home with their children. Each attendee received a pack consisting of some playing cards and game boards.

Year 6 Camp

Our Year 6 campers returned today from a highly successful stay at the CYC City Camp. Mrs. Mitrevski and her team of staff ensured that the 80 plus students had an enjoyable time at a range of Melbourne’s landmarks such as the MCG, Queen Victoria Market and ACME. Thank you to the staff involved, the four parents that gave up their time, and well done to our students who were apparently excellent in the way that they showed our school values.

2026 Prep Tours

Yesterday I conducted the second of our Prep enrolment tours for 2026. We currently have fifteen tours planned, and in most cases, they are already booked out. With over 100 families wanting a tour to decide on a place for next year, can I ask that any current families who would like a Prep place for next year, to please contact Liz in the office and book your child’s place as soon as possible. Priority will be given to siblings of current PPPS students, as long as we are aware before June.

NAPLAN

On Wednesday and Thursday of this week our Year 3 and Year 5 students completed the statewide NAPLAN testing that occurs each year. Our students completed the Writing component on Wednesday and Reading component on Thursday.  Next week, testing continues on Tuesday for Language Conventions and Wednesday for Numeracy. This testing is just one of several forms of assessment that are used in Primary Schools to ascertain student’s learning levels. If you have a child in these year levels, please continue to support them by letting them know that all they can do is their best.

School Saving Bonus

Victorian families who have children enrolled in Government schools received a $400 School Saving Bonus. This can be used for school activities (camps and excursions) and uniform items. Please refer to further information in this newsletter on how to access this information. Any funds not used by June 2025 will roll over to your student’s account and can be used in the future.

Assembly on Monday

This coming Monday we have our fortnightly school assembly in the gym at 2:50pm. Just a reminder that parents are very welcome to attend. In this upcoming assembly, we will have Student Recognition Awards for selected students in all of our Prep to Year 2 classes, and we will also be presenting our Junior School Council badges to our 2025 leaders. Our two School Captains and two Vice Captains will also be presented with badges on this day.
