PLC NEWS

PLCF (PREP)

PLC1 (GARDE 1)

PLC2 (GRADE 2)

A very big welcome from PLC 2! We have had a wonderful start to 2025 and are so impressed with how quickly students are beginning to grasp their new classroom routines. Through our Learning to Learn program, it has been wonderful to have their input into class procedures and expectations and begin to develop these together. Students have been exploring and organising their Classroom Library, learning how to locate and use Numeracy resources and demonstrating their best handwriting skills. Students also took some time to complete a scavenger hunt to assist them in becoming more familiar with our new signage around the school – why not have your child show you and discuss the behaviours that are to be displayed in each area?

As it is Term 1, we ask families to ensure that all students have a broadbrimmed Delacombe hat to protect them from the sun. Students are also encouraged to use sunscreen before Recess and Lunch and with the warm weather lately we ask all students have access to a water bottle.

We have so many exciting events this year, the first of which is our Grade 2 Swimming. This will take place in week 6 from March 3rd – 7th. Further information around this will be available over the coming weeks.

Some classes have begun with their parent helpers this term and we ask if there are any parents/guardians who are interested in helping out that they please reach out to their classroom teacher. We would also like to remind you about our upcoming Open House on the 18th of February, where classrooms will be open and you will have an opportunity to meet your child’s teacher/s and students will show you a little of what they have been working on so far this year.

That’s all from us in PLC 2, but please remember that we are always here to discuss any of your child’s learning needs.

PLC3 (GRADE 3)

PLC4 (GRADE 4)

PLC5 (GRADE 5)

Welcome back to all grade 5 students and respective families to the school year for 2025! What a smooth and seamless start to the new school year, as students showed great maturity, enthusiasm and excitement as the settled quickly into their new classrooms. We hope that everyone had the opportunity for a restful summer holiday and were able to recharge their batteries in preparation for all the upcoming events and learning that will occur throughout the year. There will be a plethora of upcoming events for the students to look forward to and make the most of their year in grade 5. Stay tuned – we can’t wait!

Students have been partaking in the Learning to Learn program in all core subject areas to establish, revisit and refresh classroom and school expectations and routines while clarifying expected behaviours. During this time students have been getting to know their new teachers and classmates.

With the extreme heat expected for this week, this is a timely reminder (and school policy) for all students to be wearing a school hat for term 1 to be worn during outside playtimes. If students do not have one, please speak with a staff member in the front office and they will be more than happy to help organise one for your child. Also, please make sure that students come to school with a drink bottle filled with water only.

If you have any questions, concerns or would like to have a chat, please see your child’s teacher. We are more than happy to receive emails from you or to organise a time to meet that is best suited for all. Have a great week and stay cool!

Thanks from the Grade 5 teachers.
