Junior School Report

Wow – I can’t believe we’re already over halfway through Term 1! It has been an exciting and productive start to the year, with the Junior School settling in well and demonstrating great effort both in and out of the classroom.
At Woodmans Hill Secondary College in 2025, we are placing a strong emphasis on entry and exit routines, ensuring students are respectful, prepared, and ready to learn. It has been fantastic to see students lining up calmly before lessons and packing up in an orderly manner at the end of each session. These routines are helping to build positive learning habits that will support academic success throughout the year.
We have already had some key events taking place, including the Year 7 camp at Adekate, which will be a fantastic opportunity for students to build friendships, develop teamwork skills, and challenge themselves in a fun outdoor setting. It was great to see students embracing new experiences and stepping outside their comfort zones. Meanwhile, Year 7 and Year 9 students will soon be shifting their focus toward NAPLAN, a great opportunity to showcase their learning growth.
It has been particularly impressive to see how quickly our Year 7 students have embraced life at Woodmans Hill Secondary College, settling in with enthusiasm and making meaningful connections with their peers and teachers. The recent Family BBQ was a testament to this, highlighting the strong sense of community and belonging that we strive to foster.
Our Year 8 students are stepping up and demonstrating determination and respect, showing great improvement in following the school values. Meanwhile, our Year 9 students are leading the way with integrity and responsibility, setting an excellent example for the younger year levels.
Overall, it has been a fantastic start to the year, and I look forward to seeing the continued growth, excellence, and achievements of our Junior School students in the coming weeks. Keep up the great work!
