What's on in Woodmans Hill Secondary College Science Classrooms!
As the term progresses our classes are immersed in their learning within their science classrooms.
Our Year 7's are learning about contact and non-contact forces such as gravity and friction with some cool experiments coming up to test our the theory!
Our Year 8 cohort are still madly practicing their periodic table elements. Which Year 8 will remember the most elements in order! The winner of our competition will be announced at the end of term assembly. Along with practicing the elements, our year 8's are also focusing on learning about molecules and compounds
Our Year 9's are finishing up their Physics unit and are preparing for their assessment.
While our Year 10's are learning about ions and isotopes!
Last week our Year 10 students were able to explore the chemical properties of the elements through a series of exciting experiments! Below is Mr Creece's class testing out the reactivity of metals and non-metals.
Congratulations to our successful applicants for the 2025 Ballarat Tech School - Girls in STEM and Boys in STEM programs! We are excited to hear about all the fascinating and innovative projects you get to be a part of within this program!
