Term 1 has seen humanities get off to a great start.
Year 7 have been exploring the concept of liveability, measuring what makes Ballarat liveable, and how it compares with places around the world.
Year 8 have delved into the Middle Ages, understanding the life of peasants, lords & kings, as well as the huge impacts of the Black Plague.
Our Year 9's have unpacked Australia’s colonisation, debating our contentious history of gold fields, conflict & federation. In preparation for visiting the Melbourne Holocaust Museum on camp.
Year 10 have learned about the atrocities of the Holocaust, considering its brutality as well as its long-term legacy. They now begin their planning for work experience coming up in Term 2.
Please make sure you have lots of conversations with our year 10s about their future, these chats make a huge amount of difference for students during an overwhelming time.
Also, if you would be prepared to facilitate some of our eager students at your workplace, for Work Experience please reach out to the school!
