Vinnies News
It was heartening to see over 50 students signing up to be a part of the Vinnies Team for 2025. We will be holding regular meetings every Day 6 at lunchtime in G1-17, so students need to look out for Simon notices and enable the Teams notifications.
Last meeting, we elected our Presidents, and I would like to congratulate Sophie McKinlay, who is our President for 2025, well supported by Mariam Kaginyan as Vice President. A special mention to Joshua Kosior who will assist as secretary.
Term 1 sees the launch of Project Compassion. Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of our Lenten journey and we encourage our students to think about those less fortunate, by making a donation to the Project Compassion box, which will be placed in every Pastoral homeroom. If every student donated a mere $1 a week over the next 6 weeks, we would raise $6000!
Term 1 also sees the return of the very popular Easter Raffle. The Vinnies and staff generously donate items to make up the hampers, so soon enough, the Vinnies will be going around to Pastoral classes selling tickets. The price will be $1 a ticket, or $3 for 5 tickets. All proceeds go towards supporting the St Anthony's tutoring Program.
A number of our students have already signed up to attend St Anthony's after school on a Tuesday. They work with the primary students, assisting with their homework and reading. They travel by school bus with one of our staff and return to school by 5.00 pm. This is open to any Nazareth students who wishes to volunteer their time. Please come and see Ms Douglass if you are interested in registering to attend.
Stay tuned for further updates!

VCE Visual Communication Design (Unit 3)
To practise past and present design practises of designers, VCE Visual Communication Design (VCD) Units 3 students were tasked with designing posters for the band, The Rolling Stones. They were charged with the responsibility to celebrate the band’s album, Hackney Diamonds, and promote an upcoming fictional concert. Students were encouraged to embrace manual methods of the past, including collage, and to use present digital methods, such as Photoshop and Procreate. This was all whilst they needed to adhere to Design Criteria such as including the band’s logo and specific text information. Please take a look at the exciting posters below.
