Deputy Principal Staff and Students Report

Pastoral Teachers

Last week the Year 7 Parents/Guardians/Carers had the opportunity to meet their child’s Pastoral Teacher at the Year 7 Information Night. A big thank you to all the Year 7 families who took time out, on a very hot evening, to meet with their child’s Pastoral Teacher. At the Information Night it was discussed that the Pastoral Teacher is the first point of contact with the school for students and families. They are the person that sees your child each day and is their shepherd in our community. They monitor the overall growth and development both in their learning and as a human being for each student and show genuine care and support for their flock. Year 7 families have met with the Pastoral Teacher, and Pastoral Teachers have reached out to families from the other levels. We encourage Parents/Guardians/Carers to be in touch with the Pastoral Teacher if there are any concerns, questions or information that could be shared to assist your child in their learning and or their overall wellbeing. Please do not hesitate to reach out to your child’s Pastoral Teacher.

Child Safety

The College has a Child Safety Team that meets once a fortnight to ensure, as a community, we are doing whatever we can to make sure all our students are safe. We are looking to have a meeting once each term  where we invite some Parents/Guardians/Carers to participate in the Child Safety Team meeting. If you are interested in participating in one of these meetings please contact Justin Duckett at the College.

Please never hesitate to contact the College Child Safety Team if you have any questions or concerns in relation to Child Safety.

Start of the Year

It has been very pleasing to see students making a big effort at the start of this year with their work, organisation, arriving on time to class, having all the necessary equipment and ready to learn. We encourage Parents/Guardians/Carers to continue having conversations with your child/children about their learning, their organisation etc so we can be working together to improve the learning outcomes for all members of our community.

Thank you also to the vast majority of students who have made a great start with their uniform. We continue to encourage all students to wear their uniform with pride and as a sign of respect for themselves, their family and all of the Nazareth Community. Thank you to Parents/Guardians/Carers for your great work supporting us and working together as we establish our clear expectations of students.  We are pleased with the improvement we have seen so far in 2025.

As we move into the next few weeks and the middle part of the term, we encourage all students to work diligently and to reach out to staff members if they are finding particular subjects, topics or concepts difficult, so we give you support.

Pilgrims of Hope

As we reflect on our College theme for 2025 “Pilgrims of Hope” we are mindful that it has been a great start to the year. When I look around the school yard or classroom at the young, energetic and smiling young faces, I see much to be grateful for, a lot to celebrate, and I am filled with hope for the journey of 2025.

We give thanks to God for the great people he has blessed us with in our community and we continue to pray asking the Holy Spirit to inspire us, set us on fore and truly lead us on the journey of 2025.

God Bless.
