Twilight Sports

Dear families,

We look forward to all of our families joining us on Thursday March 14th for our annual Twilight Sports event.

This will be a particularly special event this year, as we take the opportunity as a whole school community to farewell Mark Pinkerton after 25 years of service, and countless Twilight Sport events.

All families are asked to meet on the Catholic Ladies College oval at 4:15 pm for a 4:30 pm start. Please wait until 4:15 to begin arriving, to allow CLC time for their school pick up. CLC have asked that we park all vehicles in the lower car park on the left of the main driveway. You will then walk across the driveway and down past the gym and tennis courts to the oval.

This year we will be changing the structure of the evening and combining the Junior and Senior students together for the team events from 4.30 pm till 6.00 pm. This will be followed by a dinner break, before the running events. At approximately 7 pm, we will conclude the evening with a brief presentation.

Parents are welcome to move around during the field events but we ask that spectators watch the sprints from the parent areas away from the running track.

At approximately 6 pm there will be a break. The PFOL will be selling food and drinks however families are welcome to also bring their own food, along with a picnic basket, rugs and camp chairs. We ask that children do not eat food during activities. Please remember this is strictly an alcohol free event

To assist staff who will be setting up the event, we ask that families who are able to collect their children at 1:25 pm on this day. If you need your child to remain at school until 3:15 pm, could you please let us know by Wednesday 13th March using the form sent earlier. From 3:15 pm, the after school care program will run as normal.

As this is not a school closure, we require all children who are leaving at 1:25 pm to be signed out from their classroom. No students will be permitted to leave the school premises without being signed out and in the care of an adult.

We encourage all students (and families) to attend dressed in their house colours. Please remember that at this time of year the nights can get cool quickly, so it may be wise to have a warm jacket handy.

If extreme weather is forecast, a decision on cancelling this event will be made on Wednesday, families will be informed by note at the end of the day.

We look forward to seeing you all there.

Kind regards

Rudy Vail
