Principal's Piece 

Term 1, Week 3

Dear Parents and Carers,

Some exciting news this week from Ms Jenkins announcing the safe arrival of their baby boy Atticus. We wish Harriet and her husband Adam all the best as they enjoy the precious gift of parenthood.

Today our staff worked with Brad Williams on our whole school approach to behaviour, 1,2,3 Magic, and Emotion Coaching. This program and approach creates consistency and a common language across the school and equips teachers with the skills and knowledge to effectively guide behaviour, build relationships and teach self regulation through the emotion coaching. The day was broken up into listening to Brad discuss the theory, research and implementaion of the program as well as pratical activities to build consistency between our staff in understanding and managing student behaviour and emotion coaching. On Monday Brad will come back and work with staff to turn the content we have learnt into practice. He will also be facilitating a parent workshop Monday evening. 

I highly encourage parents to register for the parent workshop on Monday 19th February 6:30-8:00 pm. This is a great opportunity to learn about what the school has in place and how you can also implement and support your children at home with these strategies. The session is free to attend, please see the flyer below for registration.

Reconciliation Faith Night: Thursday 22nd February at 7pm for our Year 3 students. 

Parent Teacher Converastions: Tuesday 27th and Thursday 29th February - COMPASS is now open for bookings. This is a great opportunity for you to meet your child's teacher and discuss your child's start to the year. It is also an opportunity for you as parents to discuss anything you would like your child's teacher to know about your child. 

Make up photo day is on Monday for students who were absent on photo day last week. This also includes any extra sibling photos. Please ensure order forms are returned to the office by Monday.
