STUDENTS NOT RETURNING IN 2024
As previously advised, could parents of students not returning in 2024 please communicate this to the school in writing (preferably by email) as soon as possible so that class formations can be developed.
CLASSES FOR 2024
During this term teachers will begin to look at the formation of 2024 classes. The protocol for communication about your child’s needs for 2024 is to write directly to the Principal, via letter or email by Friday, 3rd November. Requests can only be based on your child’s needs, not requests for a particular teacher.
Your child’s current teachers have been working with the year level cohort throughout the year. They know their students and their friendship groups. They understand the learning needs of each child and are able to make wise and informed decisions as to placements for students for 2024 and will be directly involved when class placements are considered.
GREENER GOVERNMENT SCHOOL BUILIDNGS INITIATIVE
Last year School Council decided to apply for a Victorian School Buildings Authority Grant for the installation of a large 99KW solar panel system on the Gymnasium roof. The cost of this installation involved a co-contribution from the school. Whilst the initial cost is considerable, we believe that this financial outlay will be recouped in a few years. Due to the size of the solar panel system we will no longer need to pay for electricity usage, not to mention lessening our environmental footprint. All excess electricity collected will be fed back into the grid.
Works on the installation of the solar panels will commence this week – just in time for the summer period where our electricity usage increases significantly due to use of air conditioners etc.
