Congratulations to Jordan J. who competed at the Southern Metropolitan Regional Athletics Carnival. Jordan qualified first at the Beachside Division in the Long Jump and travelled to Ballam Park Athletics Track to take on seven other regional competitors. Well done Jordan in achieving second place with a jump of 5.33m.
Our girls' netball team are competing at Waverley every Thursday night in the Spring Competition. If you want to see what resilience looks like, I suggest you go and watch the girls in action. They take on challenges, continue to improve each week and most importantly never give up. Thank you to Head Coach Leah and Coach Sophie.
Putting a new group together to create a new team can have its challenges. The basketball academy boys have worked hard at training for two terms. They have played in some very tough school competitions this year but enjoyed success last week at their first grading game for the McKinnon Basketball Association, playing as Chelt.Sec in the Summer Competition.
In Term 3 students had the opportunity to join in a series of volleyball skills and development sessions. Volleyball is always popular as one of our Term 1 Summer sports, so the turnout was no surprise. Some of our very keen Year 10 students are looking to build on their skills and create an academy-like training routine as they get ready for the Junior Volleyball Victoria Tournament.
In Term 3 students had the opportunity to join in a series of soccer skills and development sessions. We had a good turnout however, the weather turned a few away. We would like to offer this to all students again in Term 4. Sessions are $10 per week for 1.5 - 2 hours, after school on a Thursday. We need 13 students to start. Please add your expression of interest here.
When neighbours become good friends...The Moorabbin Rams Rugby Club will be popping in to host some touch rugby sessions on Tuesdays after school. Just three sessions at this stage. Students are welcome to come and TRY or just watch if you are not sure.
