Mrs Arlei and Mrs Palmer set students in 8TEC1 a challenge this term. They were to design and create a greenhouse to grow herbs in an egg carton. They launched straight to action, with only a few photos provided for inspiration. These are the result of their creativity.
Ag students also participated in some data collection this term, tracking the weight of the newest additions to our farm.
Year 10 and 11 students putting the finishing touches on their side table and serving tray projects.
On Friday 1st December, three of our year 12 Design & Technology students interviewed Kris McGee, the founder and designer of the Sunsquirt. The Sunsquirt is an automated sunscreen dispensing kiosk that is used by many schools, sporting facilities and councils to protect communities from the risks of sun damage. Kris spoke to our students about his innovation and the tedious processes involved in making his product a commercial success. Sunsquirt kiosks can be found at many locations across not only in Australia but also the United Kingdom and United States of America. This opportunity provided our students with real word experiences and access to valuable knowledge about innovative design. A big thankyou to Mrs Stipanovic for organising this opportunity. https://sunsquirt.com.au/
Over the summer break, please ensure that your child has fully enclosed black leather shoes to fit for TAS practical lessons. It is mandatory from a work health and safety perspective, and we would like all students to get off to a great start in their practical lessons next year. Thank you for supporting us and ensuring students have been in correct footwear this year.
