From the Principal

It is hard to believe that twelve months have flown past, and that 2023 is almost at an end. Schools are always busy places, and 2023 has been no exception for the staff and students of Camden High School.

There are many reasons why Camden High School is such a fantastic place to work and to learn. Our continued emphasis on high expectations ensures that all members of our community, staff and students alike, take responsibility for being learners who are respectful and safe. Such an essential element to the success of our students is the continual hard work and dedication of our staff. Quality teaching and learning is our core business, and as a school community, we are fortunate to have so many staff who repeatedly go above and beyond in wanting the best for our students. Whether it is the delivery of innovative and engaging lessons, or the provision of a wide variety of extra-curricular experiences and opportunities, our teachers are amazing at what they do. Just as important, and working right alongside our teachers, are our administrative and support staff. They are often the first people our students and parents see, hear or interact with, and they all do a fantastic job. The combined efforts of our students, staff and families is what makes our school the energetic, vibrant and supportive community that it is, and despite the challenges that 2023 has continued to throw at us, we have all embodied the Camden High School motto of ‘Together We Achieve’.

Our achievements and successes throughout 2023 have been many and varied, and Camden High School students have excelled in academic, sporting, cultural and extra-curricular fields. Contribution to our community has remained a strong focus of our civic endeavours at Camden High School, and I am extremely proud of the recent Student Leadership initiative of a Trivia Night that saw a substantial amount of money raised for donation to Turning Point, a very worthy local charity providing much needed assistance to members of our community who are struggling. Our Presentation Evening and Recognition Assemblies have been a lovely way to end the term, with the opportunity to publicly recognise and reward the achievements of our students.

As the 2023 school year draws to a close, I am so proud of the achievements of our students and our school. It is both a pleasure and a privilege to serve the Camden High School community, and I look forward to continuing to do so in 2024 and beyond. I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a safe and happy holiday season, and a restful break so that we all come back feeling refreshed, focused and ready for a fantastic 2024.
