From the Deputy Principal

Megan Nertney

Term 4 has had a sensational start! We have jumped right in with swimming this week. Our children have been really engaged and loving the swimming lessons. This is a vital skill to have. Next week we continue the lessons for our Foundation to Year 5 children. Our Year 6 class is off to Canberra next week. A trip to Canberra is fun and educational. We wish you a safe trip.

World Teachers Day is coming up on Friday, 27 October. You may like to share any highlights you or your child have had over the year. For me, I have the privilege each and every day to work with an amazing group of dedicated teachers who are making a difference. I wish to thank teachers for their contribution to your children’s education for today as well as their future!

Our value focus for the first three weeks is Love: Respect for others. Respect means treating everyone and everything with care. We are all unique and we need to accept people for who they are. The golden rule in the Bible Matthew 7:12 is to treat others the way you would like to be treated. This is a great example of respect. You can show respect to people in many ways - how you speak to them, how you behave towards them and how you look after your belongings and the personal belongings of others. To find out more about respect check out Kids helpline website. https://kidshelpline.com.au/teens/issues/all-about-respect

A big thank you to everyone who attended the Art show. A big thanks to POTS for organising the event. We have some really talented artists among us. Don’t forget to get your orders in! https://www.crazycamel.com.au/38759
