Art Show

On September 1st we held our first Art Show in the school gym, and it was a huge success! The Parents and Friends raised over $5000 for the school through this event.

On behalf of the whole school community, I would like to sincerely thank and congratulate the organising team from Parents and Friends, who spent countless hours planning and pulling together all of the details to make it such a special event for students and families: Kate George, Tess Lindt, Jess Gerrard, Kylie Webb and Belinda Wauchope. Congratulations to Suzie Tume for guiding the students to produce a polished piece and for framing them too.

Thank you to other P&F team members & staff who helped out: Emily Fatchen, Alex Fry, Amanda Preskett, Carrie Williamson, Sara, Tracey, & Di.

Thank you also to Paul Richards for doing a wonderful job as Auctioneer for our live auction, and to Sophie Page, Phil Foreman and Rosie Higginson for providing such beautiful music free of charge.

We'd also like to thank all of the school families and businesses who so generously donated or helped out:

Music Showcase

Last night we had a great showcase evening of some of our school's musical groups and individual musicians. We saw and heard so many talented performers!

Thank you to all of our instrumental teachers- Sarah Butler teaching instrumental music and band, Cara Bilstein teaching drums and piano, Guy Phillips teaching guitar and ukelele, and Monica Hanusiak- Klevins conducting the Festival of Music choir.  Congratulations to all of our performers for a terrific performance.

Footsteps

We have almost come to the end of our Footsteps dance lessons this term. Parents are welcome to come along to the final lesson to see how they've progressed!

Wednesday September 20 in the school gym

12:00 - 12:30 (Rec and year 1 performance)

1:30-2:00 (Years 2 and 3 performance)

2:00-2:30 (Years 4 to 6 performance)

End of term

In Week 10 most classes will be away on camp, so there will be no end-of-term newsletter or end-of-term assembly. Our final assembly for the term will be held next Friday September 22.

Staffing changes

We would like to thank most sincerely Chris Oxenham who has done a stellar job filling in as Pastoral Care Worker since Emily Morgan finished up last term. All of the students staff and families have valued Chris' skill, experience and kindness in her role. We have a new Pastoral Care Worker starting next term, Kirrily Munyard.  We look forward to welcoming Kirrily and will share a photo and some information about her in the next newsletter!

We'd like to congratulate Alex Berry, Sam Irvine and Suzie Tume who have all secured part-time permanence at our school.  Yay!

And finally, it is with much sadness that we farewell Di Badenoch who is retiring at the end of this term. Many of you would realise the important roles that Di has held in the school. She has kept the school running smoothly for 22 years in her role as school secretary. She has an incredible skill for detail and a knowledge and understanding of the local community and history which has been invaluable. In addition, she has worked in the role of our school librarian, sharing her love of books and reading with the children throughout this time. She has ordered every book in our library with care (and read them all!), and has shown much kindness in connecting children with the books she believes they will enjoy, inspiring them to find joy in reading for the future.

We will miss Di dearly, and hope she continues to visit us regularly. We wish her all the very best in her retirement, and promise not to ring her TOO often to help us find things!  ❤

Have a wonderful end of term!

Margie
