Morning Tea for Kindergarten 2024 parents (hosted by 2023 Kindergarten parents)

Friday, 27th October - 9.00am to 11.00am - St Nicholas School Auditorium

On Friday, 27th October (first of the orientation days) parents are invited to morning tea in the school auditorium.  This morning tea is hosted by our current Kindergarten parents and will give Kindergarten 2024 parents the opportunity to meet each other while having the opportunity to receive valuable information regarding uniforms, before and after school care and bus travel.  We encourage as many 2023 Kinder parents to come along so they can share their experiences of starting Kindergarten with our new parents.

The Orientation Days for children are significant in helping children familiarise themselves with the school environment and helping to make the transition to ‘big school’ so much easier.  These days are also used by teachers to make observations that may help us to cater for your child’s needs.  Children should be dressed in appropriate casual clothing with a hat and closed in shoes.  Your child should bring a water bottle and cut fruit for morning tea at each orientation visit.

YEAR 5 LEADERSHIP DAY

Our Year 5 Leadership Day will be held on Wednesday 18th October 2023, in the school auditorium. All Year 5 students will take part in the activities for the Leadership Day.

In Week 6, any students wishing to nominate for School and House Captain will present their speech to Year 5. Following this, the Year 5 cohort will vote. Based on this result, a smaller number of nominees for each position will present their speech to Years 4, 5, 6 and staff for the final voting.

YEAR 6 YEAR BOOK

Please note that the Year 6 Year Book is currently being compiled. We have photographs including students other than Year 6 (eg. buddies) throughout the Year Book and we need to make all aware that if you do not wish to have your child's photograph appear in the Year Book then you must notify the school as soon as possible.

COVID INFORMATION

At the end of 2022, National Cabinet announced that people who test positive to COVID-19 do not need to isolate. In line with this announcement, schools will continue to follow guidance issued by NSW Health to support the safety and wellbeing of our school communities.

Staff and Students with COVID-19 Symptoms

If a student or staff member is unwell and has any symptoms they should always test for COVID-19 and not attend school until they are symptom free.

Positive COVID-19 Cases

If a student or staff member receives a positive result with a RAT or PCR test they should:

  1. Record the positive result through the Services NSW website or App.
  2. Notify school of positive results as soon as possible.
