"Many Wolves .... One Pack"

Term 4 - Week 1

Welcome to Term 4.

I am lost for words and can not begin to comprehend the horrific plane accident last Friday, which took the lives of Raphael, Evita and Philomena Smith along with their grandfather Peter Nally.

I am however strengthened to be part of a wonderful school community which has rallied around our students, staff and parents. At St Nicholas School we are feeling the love and support from our communities and it is giving us the strength required to support ourselves and our students.

The following link is a letter I sent to our school community yesterday in regards to a parent information session on Monday evening. The session will be run by Centacare New England North West and is tailored to parents about supporting their children during times of grief.

I ask our community to continue to pray for the Smith family in their time of greatest need.

PT&F Meeting

With the parent information session scheduled for this Monday night, our PT&F Meeting has moved to Tuesday night at 6.00pm in the school library. I thank the PT&F for their understanding and support in adjusting their meeting.

Please join the PT&F team on Tuesday night as they continue to provide strong support and a parent voice for our wonderful students.

Kinder Information Night

Last night St Nicholas School began the formal educational journey with the parents of Kindergarten 2024. We are so fortunate at St Nicholas School to work with current and future parents who love their children, value education and trust St Nicholas School as a partner in their child’s development.

An enormous thank you to our guest speakers:

  • Penny Clunas: Speech Pathologist
  • Annabelle Bridge and Kate Reynolds: Occupational Therapists
  • Emma Stilinovic: Clinical Psychologist Registrar
  • Sophie Tobler: St Nicholas Inclusion Teacher
  • Kate Chatfield, Rachel Mierau, Jess Harris and Dayna Bevan: Kindergarten 2024 Team
  • Emily Crockett: St Nicholas Administration

Please find shared with you a copy of the evenings presentation

Congratulations Kellie and Corey Whitbread

An enormous congratulations to Kellie and Corey Whitbread on the arrival of their second child, Gigi. By all reports big brother Tommy is smitten with his little sister!

Welcome Jess Harris

Welcome back to Miss Jess Harris. Jess previously spent a year at St Nicholas School before returning to Barraba. I am absolutely delighted to have someone of Jess’ character and capacity continuing the great work of Kellie Whitbread in KW.

Have a great week.
