AFLW player visit

During the last week of term 2, we had four current members of the St Kilda women's AFL team come and do a Q and A session with our Grade 4, 5 and 6 students.

The players Nat (15), Paige (10), Alyce (3) and Sim (34) all shared their sporting journey to an AFL career with the students. They shared what a normal training day involves for them including nutrition, training, recovery. They discussed game day preparation and the funny game day traditions they have.

Our students prepared for the session with some probing questions and the players gave some very insightful responses.  

Their final advice for the students was to know that you can do anything you strive for, with determination, hard work and support from people around you.

They discussed all the other career paths within the AFLW pathways and were inspiring to listen to and have visit with us. They played a few quick connection games with the students that we know we will continue to use.
