Busy Term for Augustine Students

Ms Sonya Barnes, Middle Leader Pastoral - Augustine

Augustine students have had a bustling term filled with enriching activities and achievements. Our Year 9 students enjoyed an adventurous camp, while Year 11 students built relationships and engaged in reflection during their retreat. Year 12 students also had a fun and memorable camp experience. All staff reported being impressed by the students’ participation and the teamwork they displayed in participating in activities.

In extracurricular achievements, Charlotte Agnew has made us proud by qualifying for the semi-finals in the Debate team. Eleanor Serra has excelled by reaching the finals in the Readers Cup. Joel, Tyson, Maddy, and Damo showcased their determination by competing in the Great Wheelbarrow Race.

Augustine students have shown remarkable representation in various sports, including Futsal, AFL, and cricket. Additionally, our participation in History Week celebrations, NAIDOC and a traditional smoking ceremony highlighted the importance of cultural experiences alongside academic pursuits.

These activities reflect that school is not just about the curriculum. I am incredibly proud to see so many Augustine students extending and challenging themselves. Their dedication and enthusiasm are truly inspiring. I wish all of you a restful and safe break from school and look forward to what Term 3 will bring us!

Kind regards,

Ms Sonya Barnes
