The VCE Vocational Major class visited Beechworth a couple of weeks ago. At Billson's Brewery, students explored careers in hospitality and learned from the Venue Manager about the importance of workplace culture, ongoing training, and diversity in the workplace. After visiting Woolshed Falls, the students were able to consider how history and geography can create jobs and contribute to the local economy. This trip offered practical insights into various career paths and the factors that contribute to a successful and healthy workplace environment.

Dramatic Designs

Students were given the task to create a hat or headpiece for House Sport days. With success criteria including house colours, being sunsmart or perhaps standing out in the parade - this is what they came up with.

Global Issues

The task was to design and draw a topological map of their ideal “20 Minute Neighbourhood”. This means designing a neighbourhood in which you have all your necessary facilities and services within a 20-minute walk from your home. The students decided on the key services and then planned the layout. They gave their neighbourhood a fictitious name.
