Year 7& 8 Peer Christian Studies
God's Story of Redemption
This term, the SEEN peer-teaching lessons have taken students on a journey through the story of redemption. Peer instructors kicked things off by exploring the magnificence of God's creation in Lesson 1. Students used presentations, videos, skits, LEGO activities and online games to share biblical passages depicting how God formed the heavens, earth and humanity with such intricate design and purpose.
Lessons transitioned to examining sin's tragic entrance into the world through Adam and Eve's disobedience. Students helped their peers unpack the consequences of this rebellion against God. However, the storyline didn't stay dark for long, as lessons were then shared that proclaimed the good news of redemption made possible through Jesus Christ's death and resurrection. What a powerful reminder of God's unstoppable love!
Students discovered that God's redemption story isn't just ancient history - it's an ongoing narrative that we all get to participate in today. Peers used fun object lessons such as shining flashlights to share how they can shine as lights in the world and experience the power of God's Word in our daily lives.
Turning to matters of character development, Lesson 5 equipped students with wisdom for finding true peace amid life's pressures and anxieties. Peer instructors highlighted Scripture's teachings about resting in God's perfect peace that transcends circumstances. They provided practical insights about living with unshakable calm by anchoring their trust in the Prince of Peace himself.
As this spiritual growth series continues, students will explore more about rediscovering peace after failures, overcoming anxiety and navigating crises with God's help.
Well done to all Year 7 and 8 students for researching, planning and presenting. What an incredible opportunity to be immersed in the greatest story of love, redemption and peaceful living ever told!
