House Chorales Competition
House Chorales is a significant event for our school; it runs once a year where all seven Houses come together to compete in an ultimate showdown. Many beautiful performances are produced as the students' voices merge into one and they sing harmoniously.
In the past few years, we have been unable to run House Chorales due to unforeseen circumstances. However, in 2024, House Chorales made a comeback for the second year in a row, and as many had anticipated, many wonderful performances were produced on the night of 27th June as the students' voices echoed across the theatre.
It was a beautiful night enjoyed by many, both the singers and the audience. The students have been practising and working hard for weeks prior to the competition and their hard work and dedication clearly shined through in their performances. It was a neck and neck battle between the Houses; however, after a close match, Hakea came out on top followed closely by Grevillea, Fern and the rest of the Houses. The night ended with the lively chatter of everyone as they discussed the exciting performances from the students of DHS.
We’d like to thank all the music professionals that spared a portion of their time to come and be our judges. If it weren’t for you, deciding a winner would have been a strenuous task. We’d also like to extend our thanks to Mr. Davies for organising the Chorales Competition year after year. Although it is sad to see you leave us, we hope you enjoyed your time at DHS just as much as we enjoyed your time as a teacher here.
