Year 10-12 Tertiary Day

Week 7 Term 2, 2024

Last Thursday our Year 10-12 students attended the Tertiary Day at the Range Function Centre. The expo offered an extensive range of employment, career and post-school option information to the students. This included training organisations, agencies and employers. This event also provided an opportunity for students to ask questions and investigate their post-school choices with organisations from the Wagga region, while also providing access to organisations from across the state.

The students thoroughly enjoyed the visit, highlights (apart from the free merchandise being handed out) included chatting with people about their post-school options – several signed up for potential employment with businesses such as Transgrid and Essential Energy. Students were also highly engaged with the presentations by NSW Police on careers in the Force, with TAFE NSW representatives about options other than university, and with exhibitors for potential careers in Health and Agriculture.

Divine (Yr 11) had a go at checking blood glucose levels of students and Mr Forbes-Taber to test for diabetes! Isabelle (Yr 10) had a great conversation with Hutcheon and Pearce about careers in the Ag Machinery and Cropping industries.
