Our wonderful Year 6 Leaders continue to serve, inspire and guide others across our school community, especially their Prep Buddies. It has been lovely to see the care, encouragement and leadership they are already showing.
Stay tuned over the coming weeks to see what they have been up to, from leading assemblies, supporting school events, and helping others in the yard. We are very proud of the way they are embracing their leadership roles and modelling our school values each day.

Commitment Mass:
Last Sunday, our Sacramental Candidates came together for their Commitment Mass, as they began the journey to receiving the Sacraments of Confirmation & Eucharist. It was a wonderful celebration where our candidates & their families stood before our parish community and received a blessing and their Confirmation & Eucharist Steps in Faith Book.
Cluster Groups:
We then came together at our wonderful school St. Mel's, for our first Cluster Group. It was an opportunity to gather, pray together and learn from each other. Our focus/aims for our first session together ~
We belong to a family & other groups where we experience welcome, love, acceptance & responsibility.
Baptism celebrates our beginning as disciples of Christ who are filled with the Spirit. We become witnesses to Jesus’ values and teachings.
Baptism celebrates our belonging to the Church, experienced through our local parish community.
We keep our students and their families in our prayers as they prepare for these significant and sacred milestones in their spiritual lives.

One of our three pillars of Lent is prayer ~ how can we pray more during Lent?
You might like to try Pope Francis' Five Finger Prayer ~
The five-finger prayer was written years ago by Cardinal Bergoglio before he became Pope Francis! It’s a great tool to teach children and adults how to pray because our fingers act as a visual and guides us to remember.

Actions speak louder than words, let your words teach and your actions speak”

This week through Project Compassion, we learn about Sisilia from Tanzania. Sisilia is a 13-year-old girl living in remote Tanzania, who had to walk long distances to collect water every day. Thanks to Project Compassion, Sisilia’s school and village now have safe clean water close by and she can spend more time studying so she can fulfil her dreams of one day becoming a pilot. ‘The water we get now is very clean and safe,’ Sisilia said. ▶️ Watch Sisilia’s story here: https://vimeo.com/1127699395 🙌 Support Project Compassion today: www.projectcompassion.org.au/donate #projectcompassion |
