Concussion Information

Important information to be aware of for parents and carers.

If your child has experienced a concussion outside of the school setting it is important that they rest for a period of 24 to 48 hours and then gradually return to activitie safter this time. Returning to school can be a graduated approach with the aim of increasing tolerance to a fullday, the same situation could occur with sporting activities. It is always important to check with your doctor and seek medical treatment after a child sustains a concussion.

It is important to inform the school if your child hassustained a concussion outside of school; this is to ensurethe school can monitor your child’s wellbeing and adaptactivities as required.

This factsheet link below from the Royal Children’s Hospital is valuable to read and understand. https://www.rch.org.au/kidsinfo/fact_sheets/Head_injury_return_to_school_and_sport/

There is also a great evidence-based app from theMurdoch children’s research institute that walks you through what to do in the result of a concussion.

2026 Classroom Helper - Child Safety Induction Sessions

We value any time parents support us with learning activities or special events such as excursions and Mother's and Father's Day stalls and breakfasts.

If you would like to participate in any such activities, you are required to attend a 'Child Safety Induction' session each year.

Early next term, we will run 2 more sessions to enable anyone who has been unable to attend this during Term 1. Times and dates will be published in our last newsletter for the term.
