FOOTY COLOURS DAY TODAY

Fight Cancer Foundation’s Footy Colours Day is a national fundraising event in September where thousands of Australians come together to show their support for kids with cancer. 

We are joining the game by wearing our favourite team’s colours today.

CRICKET TERM 4

Register to play Cricket this summer at Surrey Hills Cricket Club

Boys and Girls aged 5-9 can register to for the Woolworths Cricket Blast program at Surrey Hills Cricket Club.  The program is a great introduction to cricket and runs on Saturday mornings from 9.30am to 10.45am.  Sessions run from mid-October until the end of February (with a break for school holidays)

The club is also seeking boys and girls aged 8 to 16 for its junior program.  The club has teams from Under 10s through to Under 18’s and is based at Surrey Park on the corner of Canterbury & Elgar Roads.

SWIMMING DATES TERM 4

Preps and any new students to the school in 2024 will receive goggles and an OHR swim cap prior to the commencement of the program.

 

All OHR students will be attending Swimming Lessons at PLC as part of our Term 4 P.E program, this is in alignment with the Victorian Curriculum. The Victorian Curriculum F-10 requires schools to deliver swimming and water safety education as part of the Health and Physical Education curriculum.

Lessons commence on Thursday 17th October. The PLC Aquatic Centre is providing our students with quality Swimming and Water Safety lessons. The program encompasses water familiarisation, water safety, survival skills, deep water experience, stroke development with an emphasis on technique, fitness and fun. The lessons are being held in the learners’ pool, in the 25m pool and in the dive pool. The students will travel to/from the pool by bus. A reminder that Goggles and Swim Caps must be worn in the P.L.C Swimming Pool.

Boroondara Division Athletics

The event will be held on Monday 14th October at Tom Kelly (Doncaster) Athletics Track. It is shared with Whitehorse Division. Please see below some friendly reminders in the lead up to the event.

 

  • Events begin at 9:30am. Athletes should arrive at least half an hour before their events.
  • Marshalling is scheduled to occur 10 minutes before events begin. Warm up opportunities will be provided for students prior to the event beginning.
  • Order of events will be Boroondara & Whitehorse. 1500m and 800m will be run together. 
  • Any competitors who have a clash of field and track events should check in at both events. Event marshals will assist students to compete in both. Missing competitors will be requested over the loudspeaker.
  • The event will be conducted under SSV rules which can be found on the website. 
  • Students, teachers, spectators and officials are bound by the ‘SSV Codes of Conduct’
  • Parking at the venue is limited so please plan your trip before the day.
  • Strictly officials and athletes only inside the track/event area. Parents and Coaches must remain on the outside of the track. Any spectators who are unable to follow the event rules will be asked to leave the venue.
