FINAL DAY OF TERM 3

A reminder that students finish at 1:30pm this Friday and are invited to come to school dressed in the colours of their favourite footy team. Students will also receive a footy day lunch of either party pies or sausage rolls.

PARENT/TEACHER INTERVIEWS

Please note that Parent/Teacher Interviews are today and tomorrow (September 13 & 14). Please ensure you have booked a time with your child's teacher and have indicated your end of day arrangements for Wednesday on the Audiri form.

Parent / Teacher Interviews provide the opportunity for open dialogue about your child’s individual growth and are a wonderful opportunity for you to meet collaboratively with your child’s teacher to discuss your child’s progress

TERM 4 UNIFORM

As we enter term 4 we will, hopefully begin to see some warmer weather. Students will have the first 2 weeks to transition from their winter uniform to their summer uniform with all students required to wear their full summer uniform from 21st October.

Students are also required to wear a hat during recess and lunch during term 4. Students must wear the St Joseph's school hat which can be purchased from the school office for $12.

SOCIAL JUSTICE IN ACTION

Last week was Foster Care Week, and Ethan and Grace Patterson joined their dad (Sam) distributing posters encouraging people to consider becoming a foster carer.

“Foster carers help care for kids when their own mum and dad can’t care for them,” said Ethan. “I have met some carers with dad and they are so kind, and I reckon there are lots of other people in our St Joseph’s community who could help look after these kids and give them the chance to be treated like Grace and me.”

Sam says the need for foster carers has never been greater, and added, “You don’t need to be extraordinary to be a foster carer ... but you can have an extraordinary impact on a young person's life.”

If you think this is a role that you and your family are ready for, or you know someone who may be interested in becoming a carer, visit mackillop.org.au/fostercare for more information, or have a chat to Sam at pick up or drop off.

Thanks so much!

Sam Patterson
