As the end of the term approaches, we look back with pride at many highlights. We’ve seen students challenge themselves in new ways, develop stronger friendships, and actively engage in their learning. It’s been wonderful to witness enthusiasm and determination both in classrooms and in the playground.
Yesterday, we were visited by the scientists from Mad About Science with their Cosmic Chemistry show. This exciting science incursion featured experiments with water and gravity. The interactive sessions sparked curiosity and left everyone with a deeper appreciation for the wonders of science. What an inspiring way to wrap up the term! Thanks, Mr Nathan, for organising this incursion.
Last week, our Year 2 students had a fantastic time during their Fun Night event. They enjoyed a series of exciting games run by Kaboom, participated in a night walk where they spotted local wildlife, shared a delicious dinner together, and ended the evening with more active games in the Hall of Champions. A big thank you to the teachers who helped organise and supervise this memorable night! Mr Acklom, Mrs Scrivener, Mr Pollard, Mrs Miller, Ms Harley and myself worked as a team to deliver a night of memories for our year 2 students.
As we look ahead to the upcoming short holiday break, we hope it will be a time for your family to rest, recharge, and enjoy some time together. We encourage students to use this time to relax, but also to stay curious and engaged. Whether through reading, exploring new hobbies, or spending time outdoors, we hope they return refreshed and ready to tackle new challenges in our last term of 2024.
A huge thank you to our teaching staff and support teams for their continued commitment to providing a positive learning environment for our students yet again this term. We hope you are able to take a break and enjoy time with your loved ones during the term holidays.
We look forward to seeing many of you tomorrow at the Music Festival. A reminder that entry is only via the Hall of Champions. The 3 mini concerts promise to deliver lots of incredible highlights in both singing and dancing. For those parents who have not yet purchased tickets, we have 2 options. If you have the correct cash, you can pay at the entry to the Hall of Champions. Those of you who need to pay electronically, will need to do so via the office and then walk around and enter via Truganini Rd to the Hall of Champions.
Our building works have continued in spite of the challenging weather conditions. The windows are due to be installed over the term break. Once this portion of the work is complete, we anticipate the scaffolding will be removed and our playground returned to us. The works will continue inside the building with painters, cabinet makers and carpet layers working in our school.
Term 3 ends this Friday, 20th September. We will come together as a whole school at 9am in the Hall of Champions for our annual Sports Colour Celebration. Students are encouraged to show their colours, whether they support AFL, soccer, netball, rugby or any other sport!
Students will be dismissed from their classrooms at 2:30pm on Friday. Please note the YLV program will operate from that time.
We wish you and your family a restful and enjoyable break.
One of our year 1 teachers, Claire Wheaton is celebrating her marriage during the term break. We wish Claire and Guy a long and happy life together and hope their wedding celebration is filled with joy and laughter. After a short break, Claire will return to Carnegie PS as Mrs Washington.
