We hope that all of our students and their families had a great school holidays.
Hopefully the sunshine and much needed rest helped everyone in getting back to full health!
We have already had a jam packed start to Term 4 with a variety of events as well as lots of learning. There's lots to share with you about this coming term and you will find information on future events both in our newsletter and in teacher weekly emails.
Staffing Update
Grace Flanagan who had joined us in Term Three to teach Sustainability, has finished up at Sacred Heart School sadly last week. Grace enjoyed her time at Sacred Heart School, but unfortunately is unable to continue in her role in Term Four. Throughout Term Four these classes will be covered by Wendy Hodgkin and myself.
Amy Whitehead has requested to take leave for the 2025 school year. An advertisement will be shared in the coming weeks seeking additional teaching staff for the 2025 school year.
We are beginning to plan for the 2025 school year, which means we will be reflecting on class structures, teachers and their classes or subjects, etc.
University Teacher Placement
This term we have welcomed Skye McNamara back to Sacred Heart School after being a primary school student here and now returning to do her final placement of her degree. Skye is currently teaching up at Corryong College while in her final year of her degree and we have been lucky to have her in the Year 2/3/4 classroom with Mrs. Nagy. We look forward to continuing to support her in her final placement and making her feel welcome at Sacred Heart School.
School Uniforms
This week our PBIS Focus is 'I am responsible and wear the correct school uniform'. I have spoken with all students this morning as part of our Monday Meeting about the importance of following the expectations of our school uniform. Students were asked to check in with their families if they may need to update some items in their wardrobe to make sure that they have the correct items of clothing.
Teachers and Staff will focus on providing positive feedback for correct uniform and reminders for students who may need to change what they are wearing to school.
Some reminders I provided students with this morning included -
If any parents and carers are unsure of the uniform requirements or may need some assistance in sourcing these items, please get in touch with me through the school office.
Student Attendance
As part of our focus on Student Wellbeing at Sacred Heart School, we monitor student's attendance and provide feedback to our families. Every day at school counts and while we know there can be many reasons for your child to not attend school, it is important that we strive to have every student here at school, everyday.
If you have any concerns about your child's attendance at school or want to discuss strategies in assisting them to be at school more regularly, please get in touch with myself, their classroom teacher or Joe our Mental Health in Primary Schools Leader.
Division Athletics
Congratulations to all of our students who represented themselves and our school proudly at the recent District Aths event!
Parent Support Group Meetings
In Week Eight of this term, we will hold Parent Support Group (PSGs) meetings for all of our students who have a Personalised Learning Plan (PLP). In these meetings we will review goals from Semester Two, discuss future goals and plans for the following year. This is an important part of the process in making sure that we are catering for the individual needs of our students.
Some important dates to note for Term Four include -
