From The Principal Team

Hi Parents and Carers,

Welcome back! We hope you and your family have had a smooth first week of Term 4 following the term break.

We really enjoyed having the opportunity to meet and chat with many of our Prep parents and carers on Tuesday morning, thank you to those who were able to come along. We will be hosting a morning tea for each year level over the coming Tuesday mornings which are very informal and a lovely opportunity to connect over a cup of  tea. They will be held from 9-9:30am, after drop off, in our staffroom. Please see the dates for each year level in our term calendar if you would like to come along!

Congratulations to the team of Beaumaris Primary School students who proudly represented our school at the District Athletics Carnival, held in the last week of Term 3. Many schools and students in our district competed, and many of our students from BPS will be going through to the Division Athletics Carnival. Congratulations to all on your effort, sportsmanship and willingness to have a go and do your best.

In the final week of Term 3 we also welcomed Year 9 and Year 10 students from Beaumaris Secondary College into our Japanese classroom to work with our Year 3 students. The Beaumaris Secondary students had been learning about directions and the Japanese words for different locations. They used their learnings to run an activity with the Year 3 students. Our Year 3 students learnt a game called Dobutsu shogi, which is like Japanese Chess using animals. They used the Japanese words for right, left, forward, backwards, diagonal, etc, to engage in and play the game. Thank you to the Year 9 and Year 10 BSC students for running this activity and sharing your skills with our Year 3 students!

We can't wait to see all of our Year 6 students hard work and preparation come to life on the stage next week for our Year 6 Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Production. All year levels will enjoy watching the production during the dress rehearsals on Tuesday and Wednesday, and we hope families love seeing the show on either Tuesday or Wednesday evening at Sandringham College.

Enjoy the rest of your week.

Kind Regards,

David, Grace and Ellen
