Weekly Overview:

The sunshine is glowing with happiness and energy across the school. Speaking to so many students they are excited the fields are dry and they can play games on the ovals and basketball courts.

We have many upcoming Gala Days, excursions and other activities that need parent consent. Please note that all consent comes through a push notification that is emailed out to those involved and they need to be signed. If students do not have permission they will not be able to attend. It is a safety risk if we allow students to attend without permission and a compliance issue.

We look forward to hearing about the success that comes from such events.

Playground

Here at HTS, we have great facilities for both infants and primary areas. Teachers encourage all students to connect and socialise with one another. Our rules for living: I am safe, I am valued respected and cared for and I am a learner are still encouraged outside of the classroom.

When students are outside we expect that hats are worn and rules are followed by teachers. This is for their safety as well as any additional announcements that need to be relayed.

There have been sightings of students bringing items from home (balls + toys). We are advising that we don't support this as accidents and unfortunate timings occur and regularly end in tears. We ask all families to remind their child/children keep their special toys and items at home, thank you for your understanding.

Assembly items

Students during their assembly times have been performing in songs where they are Lip Syncing. Their creative flare and enthusiasm is to be commended. We have Years 5 and Year 1 performing next week with Kinder and Year 6 in Week 9.

Lock in the date for Primary Public Speaking

Our Year 3-6 classes have been busy preparing and constructing their public speaking routines. They perform in front of their peers and some will perform across the grade. Only 4 speeches per year will be selected to perform on Monday 23 September for the School finals. This will be held in the morning and families are welcomed to hear the Finals. Times are yet to be finalised.
