Welcome back - Term 4
Welcome back to Term 4!
I hope all our students had a safe and enjoyable break filled with fun and relaxation. It has been wonderful to hear from many of our students this week as they excitedly shared stories about their travels and activities over the holidays. Whether it was exploring new places, spending time with family and friends, or simply enjoying some well-deserved downtime, these experiences enrich our students' lives and contribute to their growth.
As we begin the final term of the school year, we remain committed to providing quality teaching and learning, and wellbeing opportunities, for all our students. Our dedicated staff are excited to engage the children in meaningful learning experiences that promote their curiosity and creativity.
Term 4 also brings a host of exciting events that we can't wait to celebrate together! We look forward to the vibrant Colour Run, which promises to again be a fun-filled day. We'll also be celebrating our incredible teachers on World Teachers' Day, recognising their dedication and the positive impact they have on our students' lives.
Additionally, our Foundation students will have the wonderful opportunity to visit Myuna Farm, where they can learn about animals and nature in an engaging environment. Lastly, we will be celebrating our Year 6 students as they prepare for their graduation, marking an important milestone in their educational journey.
School Review - Recap of Day 1 and 2
As we embark on a new chapter, our current school review is providing an opportunity to reflect on our journey over the past four years and develop our new goals and vision for the next four years. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the parents and carers who took the time out of their busy schedules to engage with our review panel members. Your insights are highly valued.
The review process will help us highlight our school's current strengths while identifying areas for further growth and improvement. Like any organisation, there is always work to be done, and I am committed to rolling up my sleeves and tackling these challenges together. We are fortunate to be part of such a wonderful school and community, and, as our motto states, 'Aim High'. We are determined to do just that!
I’d like to leave you with some heart warming comments from our student focus group that truly validate our efforts:
- 'You can really tell that all the teachers in this school care about the students'
- 'Students at our school are inclusive and everyone is made to feel welcome'
- 'It's just a pretty awesome school'.
Together, let’s continue to nurture an environment where every student feels connected, happy, safe, and able to thrive academically and socially/emotionally.
2025 Enrolments
As we begin planning for the 2025 school year, we kindly request your assistance in the classroom compositions for next year. If your child will not be returning to Cheltenham East Primary School in 2025 (excluding Year 6 students), we ask that you please inform the office at your earliest convenience. Your timely communication will greatly assist us in organising our classes effectively and ensuring a smooth transition for all students.
Removal of Cricket Nets
I wanted again to express our gratitude to several dedicated parents who went above and beyond during the recent school holidays to decommission the cricket nets. A huge thank you to the following parents/carers:
Emma Clarke and Kelly Applebee
Guy Davidson
Jen and Will White
Lauren and Matt Barbin
Damien Hardiman
Jan Robinson
Apologies if I have missed anyone. Your enormous effort and commitment to this project highlight the spirit of our school community. We are incredibly fortunate to have such invested parents and carers who continuously support our school and are committed to making our school the best possible environment for the students. Thank you again for your hard work and dedication! New fencing has also been installed to replace the gap left by the removed nets.
Have a great weekend,
Robert
