Gone but Not Forgotten
What an Extraordinary Term for Performing Arts at Greenvale Primary School!
As another memorable term draws to a close, we reflect with immense pride on the outstanding success of our biannual school concert, Gone But Not Forgotten.
Across four spectacular performances, our students captivated audiences with their enthusiasm, talent, and dedication. Featuring an incredible 53 songs and 21 performances, the concert celebrated some of the most iconic and influential artists in music history. Each performance was a heartfelt tribute, showcasing not only our students’ developing skills in the Performing Arts but also their confidence, creativity, and passion for performance.
First and foremost, we would like to acknowledge our remarkable students. Your commitment throughout weeks of rehearsals, willingness to challenge yourselves, and energy on stage were truly inspiring. You embraced every opportunity to learn, grow, and perform, and the result was a series of unforgettable shows that made our entire school community proud. Congratulations on an outstanding achievement.
A sincere thank you must also be extended to our talented Visual Arts teacher, Emily Wilkes, whose creativity, dedication, and countless hours of preparation helped bring the vision of the concert to life. Through her work with students in creating artwork and visual displays, she played a vital role in enhancing the overall production and creating a truly immersive concert experience.
We would also like to acknowledge our incredible Specialist Team for their collaboration, commitment, and hard work in transforming our performance space into a professional and engaging stage environment. Their attention to detail and teamwork were instrumental in the success of the production.
A special thank you to our School Council President, Sandy, who, together with The Dance Room, generously provided additional costume items that added extra flair and sparkle to each performance. Your ongoing support of the Arts and commitment to enriching opportunities for our students is greatly appreciated and valued by our entire school community.
Also a big thank you to Elizabeth Popovic (parent) for supplying some of the costumes as well.
We would also like to express our gratitude to:
Annette, our Business Manager, for her extensive work coordinating seating arrangements and costume orders.
Our Office staff Sandra and Michelle for assisting with enquiries, parent communication and finalising the Concert Program.
Brett McGinniskin and Gabby Tigafua for their flexibility and support in managing the many timetable and scheduling adjustments required throughout the rehearsal and performance period.
Our dedicated teaching staff, whose willingness to support additional rehearsals and adapt schedules ensured every student was prepared and confident.
Our Senior School Leaders for their assistance and leadership throughout the concert days.
Our professional lighting and sound team, Tristian, Keith, and Daniel, whose expertise elevated each performance and helped create a truly memorable theatre experience.
Jake, our backstage crew member, for ensuring everything ran smoothly behind the scenes.
Finally, and most importantly, thank you to our wonderful Greenvale Primary School community. Your attendance, encouragement, and ongoing support of the Performing Arts contribute enormously to the success of programs such as these. Seeing families, friends, and community members come together to celebrate our students' achievements is what makes events like Gone But Not Forgotten so special.
The concert was more than just a series of performances—it was a celebration of creativity, collaboration, perseverance, and community spirit. We are incredibly proud of everyone involved and look forward to creating many more unforgettable Performing Arts experiences in the years to come.
Kind regards,
Sonya Cunado
