Principal's Update
Angelika Ireland
I am delighted to return to school this week after the leave that I took this term. I spent some weeks cruising around Japan stopping at 11 ports so had the opportunity to see many parts of Japan, plus a short two-night stop in Busan, South Korea. We were lucky enough to catch the last of the cherry blossoms in Hakodate which was our very first stop after leaving Tokyo.
I experienced much of the Japanese culture and visited the Hiroshima Dome and had a clear view of Mt Fuji.
I would like to acknowledge Gabby Tigafua for her exemplary leadership of the school whilst I was on Leave, and Trudy Williams and Brett McGinniskin for supporting Gabby in their roles as Assistant Principals.

A huge congratulations and accolade to everyone who worked so passionately and diligently to deliver such an entertaining performance.
In particular, a HUGE thank you to Sonya Cunado, our Performing Arts teacher who was creative and tireless in planning this over the course of the year, and to Emily Wilkes, our Arts teacher, for the support she provided to this production and linking the school Visual Arts program into this production. The hours of preparation and organisation required for such a performance is not always evident. Mrs.Cunado’s vision for the concert was also supported by the specialist staff and classroom teachers. Thank you to each and every one of them.
To our students, you never cease to amaze us! You practised so hard to be prepared for your dance routine and delivered four fabulous performances. You should be proud of your efforts!
To our visitors, I hope you all enjoyed the show and were entertained by your child’s and our students’ performances. Thank you for attending and for your positive feedback.

During this holiday period, the Junior playground equipment will be updated. The TheirCare holiday program will continue to operate on site with restrictions to play areas during this construction. Watch this space!

This term, our Year 6 students worked in teams to research and explore an area of interest in the inquiry topic called ‘An Afternoon at the Museum’. Students explored numerous significant events in History such as The Black Plaque, Covid, Genghis Khan, the Pyramids, the Titanic and the Roman Empire.
The research culminated in a showcase of their work with parents and students being invited see the amazing work that was produced. Great work Year 6s!!

Food for Thought
