YEAR 4

FROM THE CLASSROOM

Dear Year 4 Families, 

What an amazing Term! We are so proud of all our students and the effort they have put into their learning this term. 

In Reading this week, we read the text ‘The Fabulous Friend Machine’ and students explained the main idea, key vocabulary and summarised key events.  

In Talk 4 Write we finalised our writing unit on Explanation – where students wrote using rhetorical questions and causal connectives to explain how the features of a machine worked.  

In Mathematics this week the Year 4 students revised topics from throughout the term such as, shape, multiplication, fractions, addition and subtraction. They looked at how to solve worded problems and different ways to share their thinking.  

In Inquiry students presented their stories that they coded in DelightEx and gave feedback to their peers on their coding. Next Term we will be looking at Australian History in Inquiry.  

A special congratulations to Avni and Roop in 4E on 100 nights of reading!

• Student-led Conferences: are open for bookings for week 2 of next term.

Term 3 begins Monday 13th July.  We look forward to seeing everyone at 8.35am.

Tuesday 14th July 2.00pm - The whole school will assemble for a Smoking Ceremony on the basketball courts.

Wednesday 22nd July - Student Led Conferences 2.00pm to 6.30pm follow Compass for booking instructions.
