YEAR 1

FROM THE CLASSROOM
This week in Maths, students continued developing their understanding of place value by using hundreds, tens and ones to compare and order three-digit numbers. We have also been revising our skip counting skills during our daily fluency sessions.
In Reading, students continued building their comprehension skills by exploring interesting and unfamiliar vocabulary, identifying the main idea of texts, and practised summarising stories in their own words.
In Writing, students have been working independently to apply their knowledge of persuasive writing. Using the toolkits they have learned throughout the unit, they have been creating convincing arguments about why every knight needs a pet dragon!
We have had a fantastic Term 2 and are incredibly proud of all that our students have achieved. We look forward to sharing their learning with families during our Student-Led Conferences in Term 3. Please keep an eye on Compass for booking information. We wish all of our families a safe, happy and restful holiday break.
