FREE Activities for Parents and Children

DADS MATTER

There are a LOT of FREE activities on offer in July for Dads, Grandfathers and Father figures, and their children! The amazing volunteer-led community Dads' and Father figures' groups are joined by council's Sustainability & Environment team, and the Dads Group organisation.

Please find below a list of the activities that are coming up, along with booking details for each. The Fatherhood Space and the Dad's Golf Night are just for Father figures, whilst the other activities are for kids too.

⚽ Soccer World Cup Fun

Sunday 5 July | 11:00am – 12:30pm | Hosted by the Clyde North Dad SquadOrana Community Place

Join the Clyde North Dad Squad for a morning of soccer fun. Kick a ball, score a goal with your child, and meet other local father figures. And grab a bite to eat.

🍄 Mysterious Mushrooms

Wednesday 8 July | 2:00pm – 4:00pm | Hosted by the City of Casey Sustainability & Environment team Old Cheese Factory, Berwick

Mushrooms play a vital role in our environment, and we’re inviting curious minds to come explore why! In this hands-on workshop, kids will dive into the amazing world of fungi. We’ll learn all about mushrooms and then you can get creative and craft your own mini mushroom garden using air-dry clay.

🍵 Fatherhood Space

Friday 10 July | 7:00pm | Hosted by the Brotherhood of Men | 23 Hallam Reservation Recreation Hall, 118-126 Frawley Rd, Hallam

Join other local men from Casey to chat about life, fatherhood and your everyday experience. No pressure, no stress. Just a bunch of friendly blokes talking and getting to know each other.

No reservation needed, just come along on the night.

Thank you to the parents that have offered to help sew on flowers and leaves to costumes for our student's Wakakirri performance. Glenis will be in touch shortly to coordinate the project. If you would like to help, please phone the office and ask for Glenis or drop in and visit her in the community room.

Breakfast Club

Our Breakfast Club runs on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 8.15am to 8.35am. Our Cooking Club with Year 5 students cook on Thursday at recess. They share what they make with Friday Breakfast Club students. We will start sharing photos and recipes very soon.

WHAT'S COMING IN TERM 3

Tuning in to Kids

This 6-week program will be delivered online on Mondays from 5.00pm to 8.00pm.

Starting July 20th. This is a free program for our parents.

What you’ll learn about:

How to be aware of and regulate your own emotions.
How to be aware of your child’s emotions.
How to use your child’s emotional experiences as an opportunity for closeness and teaching.
How to teach your child skills to verbally name their emotions.
How to teach your child skills to solve problems.
How to guide your child’s behaviour with appropriate limits.

THE ORANGE DOOR | SUPPORT FOR FAMILIES

At Ramlegh Park Primary School, the safety and wellbeing of our students and families is very important to us.

The Orange Door is a free service that supports families with concerns around parenting, relationships, child wellbeing and family violence. Families do not need a referral and can contact The Orange Door directly for advice and support.

The Orange Door can help connect families with services such as counselling, parenting support, accommodation, financial assistance and legal help.

Families can visit their local Orange Door in person from Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm. No appointment is needed.
