A semester of opportunity and achievement

As Term Two concludes, it is hard to believe how quickly the weeks have passed. While we eagerly anticipate the well-earned three-week July holiday break, it is also a moment to pause, reflect and celebrate a term which has been rich in activity, achievement and growth.

Our students have embraced the many opportunities available to them with enthusiasm and spirit across a diverse array of events, including:

  • St George’s Day Celebrations
  • Interhouse Performing Arts Festival
  • Interhouse Cross Country
  • SciTech Excursion
  • Languages Week
  • Pilgrimage of Joy
  • Rhythms of the City Concert
  • ACC Cross Country
  • Semester One Examinations
  • Netball & Hockey Carnivals
  • World Environment Day
  • Senior Vocal Night
  • Curtin University English Conference

Each of these moments represents a step forward in their educational journey. They encourage consistent effort, courage, and a willingness to try.

As our House leaders remind us:

“Greatness begins with small steps taken with purpose—every effort counts.”

“Success is not just in winning, but in rising each time we try again.”

“Celebrate every step forward—progress, no matter how small, is powerful.”

“Do your best, and the results will follow—commitment creates excellence.”

These words capture the spirit of our school community this term. Every student has experienced moments of challenge, perseverance, and success—some visible and celebrated on the field or stage, others quieter and more reserved but no less significant.

With Semester One Reports being issued, the upcoming holidays provide a valuable opportunity for reflection – to celebrate the wins, but also to see where improvements can and should be made. I encourage every student to celebrate their achievements—big and small—and to thoughtfully consider their goals for the term ahead. Growth comes from recognising both what went well and where we can get better, and we can all always improve.

Looking forward to Term Three, we are delighted to welcome Father Rhys, our new School Chaplain. We are excited for the energy, guidance, and care he will bring to our community. I also extend a warm welcome to Mrs Jerilyn Chan, who joins our Mathematics Department from John Septimus Roe.

As we move into the holiday break, may there be a strong sense of accomplishment in completing Semester One, alongside renewed motivation what lies ahead for Semester Two.  I look forward to celebrating the achievements of Semester One at our Academic Awards Assemblies in Term Three.

Wishing you all a joyful and restful break—time to relax, recharge, and return ready to continue the journey towards excellence as we continue to live our 2026 School Theme – Embrace, Excel, Empower.
