Year 12 News

Farewell to Year 12
As our Year 12 students complete their HSC examinations, we congratulate them on the maturity, resilience, and determination they have shown throughout their years of schooling at Beverly Hills Girls High School. This period marks the culmination of thirteen years of learning, growth, and achievement, and we are incredibly proud of the way our students have approached both their studies and their responsibilities as leaders of our school community. We extend our sincere thanks to the families, teachers, and support staff who have guided and encouraged them throughout their journey and make meaningful contributions making our school the wonderful place that we all know it to be. As our graduates look toward new pathways whether in further study, training, or employment, we wish them every success and remind them that they will always remain a valued part of our school community.
We often think of Year 12 graduation as a single ceremony, however as Year Advisors we learnt that this is definitely not the case! In the weeks before graduation, Year 12 demonstrated their strong connectivity and community spirit as they came together for movie night, future careers dress up day, and the Year 12 picnic. Getting together to take the train down to East Hills Park and have a picnic was a special opportunity to unwind one last time before exams and reflect on their school years. Teachers mingle with students, shared stories and offered well-wishes for the future. Through the other activities Year 12 showed off their creativity, kindness to each other and their teachers, and performative skills.
All these events created fantastic community spirit leading into the graduation ceremony. On the big day, students don their gowns and stoles, ready to walk the stage and receive recognition for the work they have put in. Families gather proudly, teachers offer final words of encouragement, and the students themselves feel a mix of pride, relief, and eagerness for what lies ahead. Graduation is both an ending and a beginning, a farewell to routine and familiarity, and a welcome to new opportunities.
Together, the Year 12 events and graduation ceremony formed a reflective and connected celebration of the Year 12 cohort’s journey. These moments foster connection, honour the past, and help students step confidently into the future.
In the weeks since graduation, it has been great to see many familiar faces pop in and to take the time to say goodbye as Year 12 take their final exams and sign out. It is a proud moment to see students take the step forward by making plans for their holidays and beyond.
As we say goodbye, we are excited for the opportunities that will come your way and have enjoyed sharing memories with you over the past six years.
