Free to Flourish - Purposeful
This week in Chapel, our students explored what it means to live purposefully. We started with a fun quiz called “What’s That Thing?!” where students had to guess the purpose of some very odd-looking objects; An ergonomic tomato slicer, the tiniest bone in the human body (the stapes), and even a bee’s wing magnified up close! Each one looked a little strange, but once we discovered what it was for, we could see how perfectly designed it was for its job.
That simple game led us into a bigger idea - that sometimes our own purpose isn’t obvious at first either.
We then looked at the story of Moses, a man who didn’t think he was the right person for what God was asking him to do. Moses said, “I can’t do that, I’m not good enough,” but God replied, “I will be with you.” Even though Moses doubted himself, God had a clear plan - one that would lead His people to freedom.
Just like the bee’s wing has a vital role in helping flowers grow, each of us has been created with a unique purpose that helps the world around us flourish. We may not always see the full picture, but God does.
The message finished with a reminder from Jeremiah 29:11:
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord. “Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Our challenge this week is to trust that truth - that God’s design for each of us is full of hope, purpose, and potential, even when we can’t see it yet.
