Empathy Day Fundraiser

The JSC are thrilled to share that they have teamed up with past RPS student Henny (class of 2022) and her Community Learning Partnership (CLP) team at Thornbury High School to host Empathy Day at Rosanna. The CLP's mission is to raise awareness of homelessness and teach about empathy, whilst raising money for local charity, Haven Home Safe Preston.

Empathy Day

  • Thursday 6th November

  • Students are invited to dress to express themselves and bring a gold coin donation

  • The CLP team will run Empathy activities with the Year 3-6 classes

  • The P-2 students will participate in Empathy activities with their teachers

  • Money raised will be donated to Haven Home Safe Preston, a community and affordable housing provider delivering housing and homelessness services

We look forward to welcoming Henny and her team to our Assembly on Friday 31st October where they will briefly share about their mission and promote our fundraiser.

As always, thanks for your support :)

Hockey Clinics

Earlier this week, we participated in a free hockey clinic organised by Hockey Victoria. It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to learn new skills and for some to experience hockey for the first time. Students had the chance to engage in fun drills, work on their techniques, and, most importantly, enjoy the sport on our new synthetic grass area. The Latrobe Hockey Club is holding free hockey sessions for any student who would like to further their experience in this sport. For additional details and to sign up for future clinics, please refer to the pamphlet included in this newsletter.

RPS 2025 Yearbook Cover Competition

This year, we are very excited to announce that our yearbook will be professionally printed by My YearBook! Over the past two years, we created and printed our own yearbooks in-house as we trialled the process. Now, with the experience we’ve gained, we’re ready to take the next step and have a professionally designed and bound yearbook to celebrate our amazing school community.

Selection Process

  • The Junior School Council will carefully review all entries.
  • The winning design will appear on the front cover.
  • The runner-up design will be featured on the back cover.

Student Checklist

Before handing in your design, check that you have:

  • Written “Rosanna Primary School 2025 Yearbook” on the front.
  • Used pen or texta for all outlines (no grey lead).
  • Put my name on the back of my page, not the front.
  • Made my design bright, colourful and creative.
  • Drawn it the right way up: portrait A4 (tall, not wide).
