2025 School Performance Report

In the last newsletter, I celebrated how well the students started the term by describing the positive focus they have been displaying. This drive has continued as we enter the fourth week of term; the students are aware of the structures and expectations to support and enable them to thrive in their learning.

Last week the school received our School Performance Report. This report presents a picture of the school’s performance in the areas of learning and wellbeing. There are trend comparisons, and comparisons to government schools with similar demographics (noting that ‘My School’ compares us with non-government schools).

Overall our school is assessed as performing ‘High’ in learning (based on Reading and Numeracy NAPLAN results, and teacher judgements) and ‘Medium’ in wellbeing (based on student attitude survey and attendance). Below is a breakdown of our results:

Interpreting the Results

These results show that our ongoing efforts in Literacy and Numeracy are having a positive impact. Our goal is to achieve learning outcomes in line with similar schools. The areas marked as ‘Improving’ reflect the strong progress we are making.

In 2026, our school will undertake its four-year review. The progress we’ve made in providing students with a high-quality, consistent, and effective Literacy and Numeracy curriculum positions us well for this process.

Welcome 2026 Foundation Students

This afternoon we are holding our parent information session for the 2026 Foundation students, and tomorrow we look forward to welcoming them to FPS for their first orientation day. This is always an exciting time for families and we wish all new FPS community members a very warm welcome.

Preparing for 2026 Classes

This term, staff will begin to draft student class groupings for 2026. As part of this process, students will be asked to write down the names of five peers who they work well with. We aim to accommodate at least one of these requests. Staff will use their knowledge of individual students to help create classes, ensuring a balance of abilities, gender, friendship groups and room for social expansion.

Whilst recognising that staff are generally best placed to make decisions about their students’ future placements, there may be specific considerations of which they are unaware. If there is an important situation that parents need to communicate to the school for 2025 class placements, please email Paul Wallace no later than Monday 10 November

Please note that these requests are to be made for ‘exceptional’ situations rather than preferences. It can be difficult to accommodate a high volume of requests, particularly when requests can involve multiple students.

Congratulations Zoe!

Congratulations to Zoe and Joel on the birth of baby Santino, known as Sonny. We wish you all well at this exciting time!
