Principal's Message

Dear parents, students and families,

Gallery Image

I hope families made the most of the extended weekend we have all returned from. For those who had a bet or were in a sweep for the Cup, I trust your luck was better than mine!

Tomorrow we are having a chocolate collection in preparation for the Market Day on Sunday 16 November. Our Market Day is a great opportunity to get some community funds into our school for the continual improvements you see rather than relying on parental contributions. Your assistance in the preparation and on the day itself will be much appreciated by the Parents and Friends Committee who have worked so hard in putting together the day. The real ones to benefit will of course be the students - your children.

We will also have our termly Emergency Drill practice  tomorrow at 11am so if your child comes home and says they were evacuated or asked to shelter in place you will know why. The students are pretty good with these as they are a normal part of their schooling.

One of our neighbours called yesterday with concerns about parents parking illegally across her driveway making it a safety risk. Please be mindful of where you park. The Council check regularly and are happy to hand out fines for anyone parking incorrectly or even dropping off your child.

Next week we begin our Transition sessions for our Foundation 2026 cohort on Tuesday. Such an exciting stage for all of these special little people as they get accustomed to coming to 'their' school.

My eldest son Fin is currently having a quick trip through parts of Europe. Last week he was in Rome and besides visiting the Coliseum and the Forum he made the effort to attend the Vatican twice- once to hear Pope Leo's address on a Sunday and then to return to visit St Peter's Basilica. I was proud that his faith filled journey through his schooling had meant enough that he wanted to visit such a holy place when there are simply so many other things to see and do. As such I thought I would again share our Prayer for this Jubilee Year with gratefulness for the Holy Spirit that continues to work through us all.

The Jubilee Prayer

Father in heaven,

may the faith you have given us

in your son, Jesus Christ, our brother,

and the flame of charity enkindled

in our hearts by the Holy Spirit,

reawaken in us the blessed hope

for the coming of your Kingdom.

May your grace transform us

into tireless cultivators of the seeds of the Gospel.

May those seeds transform from within

both humanity and the whole cosmos

in the sure expectation

of a new heaven and a new earth,

when, with the powers of Evil vanquished,

your glory will shine eternally.

May the grace of the Jubilee

reawaken in us, Pilgrims of Hope,

a yearning for the treasures of heaven.

May that same grace spread

the joy and peace of our Redeemer

throughout the earth.

To you our God, eternally blessed,

be glory and praise for ever.

Amen

God Bless
