Years F & 1

We have had the new foundation students join us for 2 sessions since the last newsletter. On one of the days, they were lucky to have a session of Kitchen Garden.
The students have been busy creating some of their own verses for the nursery rhymes we have read. They have attempted to create one for 'Jelly on a Plate' and 'I sold me a Horse'.
During writing lessons, they have had a go at writing colour poems. To create our colour poems, we have been focusing on our senses of sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch. Students picked a colour, and we worked through step by step to write a sentence for each of the senses.
In science, to wrap up our learning, students created a water cycle, a water journey, or a water poster of what they had learnt about water. Students considered the key elements of where the water originates and how it travels before reaching our taps.
In art this week, we attempted to create a Christmas tree. Students had to draw a triangle, then they dabbed dark and light green paint on it. They used a paintbrush to spread the paint, making it look like bristles. We added the last of the decorations, and they came up great!
