Kevin the Koala’s Adventures Come to an End!

For the past few weeks, Kevin the Koala has been a very special guest in the homes of our students. As part of our integrated topic on families, Kevin has spent time with different families, joining in on their daily routines and exciting adventures. Each student who hosted Kevin shared their experiences with their classmates, helping us learn more about the wonderful ways families spend time together.

Last week, Kevin went home with his final family, marking the end of his journey. We have loved hearing all about his adventures—whether it was baking in the kitchen, playing at the park, or even helping with homework! Thank you to all the families who welcomed Kevin with open arms and made this such a memorable experience.

While we say goodbye to Kevin’s travels, we now look forward to an exciting new learning journey—dinosaurs! Our new science topic is all about these fascinating prehistoric creatures, and we can't wait to dig in (maybe even like a real paleontologist!).

Stay tuned for more updates on our dinosaur discoveries!

This week NAPLAN started on Wednesday with the grade 3 and 5 students completing their writing assessment. The process went perfectly with no technology interruptions which was a great outcome. Still to come is the reading, language conventions and maths tests. Keep up the great work kids.

Swimming Program 2025

NO SWIMMING THIS TUESDAY THE 18th of March 2025

Students are having a great time with our teachers and are learning a lot about water safety. Out last swimming lesson is on Tuesday the 25th of March and the swimming instructors would like the kids to bring along some old clothes to wear over their bathers.

Cluster Swimming Carnival.

On the 28th of March the grade 3-6 students travelled to the Elmore Swimming Pool to compete at the Campaspe Cluster Swimming Carnival. We lucked out with the weather which made it a lot easier for the kids to get into what was a very cold pool. A big congratulations to all of our ribbon winners on the day and an extra thank you for the parents who transported or came to cheer on their kids.

Music

This week we combined music and PE in a game of Musical Chairs. Due to the hard floor of the stadium, very specific rules needed to be made to ensure safety. The kids had a blast dancing despite the warm temperature.

Art with Miss Lehre

Pop Art in Motion!

Our young artists have been busy bringing energy and expression to their canvases, inspired by the iconic work of Keith Haring! Through bold lines, bright colours, and dynamic figures, students explored how movement and emotion can be captured in art. Using Haring’s signature style, they created their own vibrant, action-packed masterpieces that practically dance off the page!

MARC News from Mrs Gentry

The Prep, 1 and 2 students started to create their very own ‘All The Ways I am Smart’ books based on Davina Bell’s picture book. They thought about lots of different ways they are smart and started illustrating them in their books.

Students in grades 3 to 6 used Lorena Carrington’s Wayfarer cards as inspiration and created their own mini fold out stories.

Lots of great books were borrowed today! I hope you enjoy sharing them with your people at home 😊

The younger students finished their All the Ways I Am Smart books. These will be in the classroom for students to share and then they will make their way home.

Older students were busy writing Ten Word Tiny Tales, we will be publishing them in coming weeks!
