News From the Acting Principal
Dear Raywood Primary School Community,
It is with a heavy heart that I share some important news with you all. As much as I have cherished my time here at Raywood, I have been called back to Kalianna Primary School next term, where my presence is needed once again.
This means that Raywood will soon welcome another acting principal to lead the school while I return to my previous role. While change can be challenging, I have no doubt that our wonderful students, dedicated staff, and supportive families will embrace this transition with the warmth and resilience that makes our school community so special.
My time at Raywood has been incredibly rewarding, and I have truly appreciated the kindness, enthusiasm, and sense of belonging that define this school. It has been a privilege to work alongside such a fantastic team and to witness the incredible growth and achievements of our students.
While I am saddened to step away for now, I take comfort in knowing that Raywood will continue to thrive under the guidance of the new acting principal. I have every confidence that the school will remain a nurturing, engaging, and inspiring place for learning.
Thank you all for your unwavering support.
Warm regards,
Ayshia Howden
Grade 5 and 6 Students Participating in School Experience Survey
Our Grade 5 and 6 students will soon be participating in an important Department of Education survey about their school experience. This survey helps gather valuable insights to improve school programs and learning environments across Victoria.
This is a great opportunity for our students to have their voices heard and contribute to the future of education. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.

NAPLAN 2025: Helping our students shine
NAPLAN is just around the corner, running from 12 to 24 March 2025. This annual assessment for Years 3 & 5 helps us understand student progress in literacy and numeracy.
Why It Matters
NAPLAN is a valuable tool that helps teachers tailor learning to support each student’s growth. It’s not about passing or failing—it’s about celebrating progress and identifying areas where students can improve.
Clean Up Australia Day-19th of March
Raywood Primary School is proud to take part in Clean Up Australia Day on Tuesday, 19th March. This special event is a fantastic opportunity for students to care for their local environment and learn about the importance of keeping our community clean.
Our students will be leaving the school at 10:00 am to head to Raywood Recreation Reserve, where they will work together to remove litter and make the area a cleaner, greener space for everyone to enjoy.
To reward our hardworking volunteers, we will be holding a sausage sizzle. However, we still recommend that students bring their lunch and a water bottle for the day.
Let’s work together to make a difference—one piece of rubbish at a time!
That's all for this week- Ayshia Howden
