Lastly, the year 7 students have all shown dedication to schooling and kindness to each other in their first few weeks of secondary school. We have all been working together to build our learning community by taking ownership over our dedicated space, including the classrooms and school yard. Students have been decorating their rooms and working together to ensure that our environment is cared for by placing rubbish in the bins. We have had a fantastic start to the year and look forward to ending Term 1 with the same enthusiasm and care.
Upcoming dates:
11th March – Year 7 Girls Cricket
12th-24th March – NAPLAN
21st March – Celebration BBQ
24th March – Period 1 Pastoral Session
28th March – Anti-Bullying Workshop
Year 7 Life
Coming from a year seven student, the subject that I am most intrigued in is Humanities. Humanities gives us the chance to really learn about the social study of humans in the individual, social and experimental sense. Right now, in year seven we are learning to understand the water cycle and how to describe the continuous movement, on, above and below the earth's surface. At the start of the year, we were given a chance to do a treasure hunt around the school, which gave us the idea of where some things were in the school. One thing I am overly excited about learning in Humanities later on in the year is Ancient History and the ancient civilizations. Sincerely Olivia Lock
On Friday, the year 8 and 7 volleyball teams showcased their amazing talent and sportsmanship at the interschool sports volleyball tournament. Competing against some tough teams, our players demonstrated brilliant skills, teamwork and resilience. Our teams played three matches each, with the Year 8 Girls Team A and Year 7 Boys playing in their grand finals and bringing home the gold!
A special shout-out to our team coaches, who kept our team motivated and on track. Beyond the wins, our teams were praised for their incredible sportsmanship and respect for their opponents—a true representation of our school's values. The teams did an awesome job! Together, let’s celebrate our athletes’ achievements and foster a spirit of healthy competition! Go Berwick! Annika Granger - Year 7 Captain
In the Basketball Academy we start doing a Boston layup drill to get warmed up. In that drill we try to get as many points as possible and see what thing’s we need to work on. After that some of us might go to the gym or train in the stadium. When we head into the gym, we first would have to stretch before we go into the gym. Then when we enter the gym, we would learn all the techniques for the gym equipment. For Basketball Academy we try our hardest every day.
